About MinistryWatchWatch

Our Mission

MinistryWatchWatch, the public-facing publication of the Institute for Ministry Watch Accountability (IMWA), exists to perform the critical function of watching MinistryWatch — the organization that watches ministries. We believe that accountability requires accountability. And accountability of accountability requires further accountability. We have drawn the line at accountability of accountability of accountability, at least for now.

We publish our findings using the WatchScore™ framework, which we developed ourselves and find very credible.

Our History

MinistryWatchWatch was founded in 2026 by concerned individuals who noticed that while many organizations existed to watch ministries, no organization existed to watch the watchers. This gap in the accountability ecosystem was, we felt, unacceptable.

Our name derives from the ancient practice of appointing a watchman to sound the shofar as warning. We have taken the shofar and turned it around — using it not to broadcast alarms, but to peer through, watching those who would broadcast alarms at others. It felt important.

After extensive deliberation lasting approximately forty-five minutes, the Institute was chartered, self-certified, and immediately began watching.
